7.B. Recognition of Guests: CISD School Board Recognition Month for January.  Renee Smith-Faulkner, Associate Superintendent of Teaching, Learning, and Innovation will recognize the School Board Members on behalf of CISD Administration. Representative Charlie Geren will present a resolution from the State of Texas, Mayor Herman Earwood will present a proclamation from the City of River Oaks, and Mayor Jim Barnett, Jr. will present a proclamation from the City of Sansom Park.

9.A. Consider Approval of Board Minutes from December 4, 2017, for a Special Board Meeting and December 11, 2017, for a Special and Regular Meeting.

9.B. Consider Approval of Expenditure Report for the month of December 2017:  The attached schedule lists all checks written for the month of December 2017.

9.C. Consider Approval of Board Policy Audit Review of Local Policies: Presented is the revised AE (LOCAL),  BJCD (LOCAL), DNA (LOCAL), DNB (LOCAL), and DP (LOCAL) policies.

10.A. Consider All Matters Incident and/or related to Public Officers and Employees, including but not limited to, Contracts Resignations, Hiring, Assignments, Allocations, and Salaries.

10.A.1. Consider Approval of New Hire Contract Recommendation:  There are no contract recommendations for this meeting as of January 8, 2018. 

10.B. Consider Approval of All Matters Incident and/or Related to Ordering a General Election for place 3 (Dewey Taliaferro) and place 4 (Doug Lee) for a three year term to be held on May 5, 2018. The Castleberry Independent School District Board of Education is ordering a General Election that will be held jointly with Tarrant County, City of River Oaks, and City of Sansom Park.

10.C. Consider Approval of procurement of construction services for additions and renovations to Irma Marsh Middle School.

10.D. Consider All Matters related to Financial, including but not limited to reports, finances, and/or proposals. 

10.D.1. Consider Approval of an Interlocal Agreement between Castleberry Independent School District and Harris County Department of Education. Harris County Department of Education Co-op currently has a minimum of 3 vendors who belong to the co-op that are not participating with the other co-ops the District belongs to. Having a variety of co-ops will give the District better purchasing/pricing options because the co-op has already completed the bid process to attain the lowest price for products.

11. INFORMATION ITEMS

11.A. Consider All Matters related to Financial, including but not limited to reports, finances, and/or proposals. 

11.A.1. The Unlimited Tax Refunding Bonds, Series 2018 sale was final on 1/11/2018. A lower interest rate was available at the time of the sale which resulted in a savings to CISD of $498,666.00. Attached is a table that includes information on the anticipated and final interest rates and savings for the District. 

11.A.2. The Castleberry Athletic Department received a $1,625.00 donation from the Athletic Booster Club to cover ½ the costs of the wall wraps for basketball. 

11.B. Consider All Matters related to Teaching, Learning, and Innovation, including, but not limited to reports, finances, and/or proposals.

11.B.1. The District submitted a proposal for the HEB Excellence in Education Award in December of 2017. Members of the Teaching, Learning, and Innovation Team worked collaboratively to produce the document, and Stacey Adams published the final draft.

11.C. Consider All Matters related to Student Services/Auxiliary Services, including but not limited to reports, finances, and/or proposals.

11.C.1. Capital Improvements Projects Update (2017-18): The Projects Report reflects work scheduled to be completed and funds expended through the 2017-18 school year.
