4.A. CISD Steering Committee Update: The CISD Steering Committee met six times this spring to evaluate the facilities at Irma Marsh Middle School and Castleberry High School. Gregg and Cheryl Lopez, community members, will speak on behalf of the Steering Committee to communicate action plans for implementation for improved facilities.

Recognition of Guests: Renee Smith-Faulkner, Associate Superintendent, is recognizing outstanding staff members and students who participated in the elementary STREAM program and the high school computer science programming class. In addition, the Technology Interns will be recognized for their technical support provided during the 2016-2017 school year.

Consider Approval of the Master Inter-Local Agreement with Region 11 Educational Service Center: The Master Inter-Local Agreement allows districts to participate in purchasing services through ESC Region 11 bidding processes, such as Bus Driver Drug Testing, Web Hosting, Technology Services and the Benefits Cooperative.

10.D. Consider Approval of ESC XI Support Services Contracts for 2017-2018. These contracts include Administrative Services, Comprehensive Services, Instructional Services, Library Services, Internet Access, PEIMS and Technology Services.

10.E. Consider Approval of Contracting with Perdue, Brandon, Fielder, Collins & Mott LLP for representation in Property Value Study Appeals and Taxable Audits.

10.G. Consider Approval of JJAEP Memorandum of Understanding: A Memorandum of Understanding with Tarrant County Juvenile Services is attached to provide services for students who are expelled from Castleberry ISD.

11.A.1. Consider Approval of New Hire Contract Recommendation.

11.A.2. Consider Approval of an Elementary ELA Coordinator Contract Recommendation: The Superintendent of Schools will present recommendation to the Board of Education for approval of Elena Guerrero as Elementary ELA Coordinator.

11.A.3. Consider Approval of a Bilingual/ESL Coordinator Contract Recommendation: The Superintendent of Schools will present recommendation to the Board of Education for approval of Ruth Martin as Bilingual/ESL Coordinator.

11.B.1. Consider the Adoption of SpringBoard Curriculum for Secondary English Language Arts and Math Advanced Placement Courses: Currently, the secondary ELA and Math Advanced Placement courses lack a rigorous curriculum aligned with AP and college and career readiness standards. SpringBoard’s instruction and assessment align with the skills and knowledge identified by the Advanced Placement Program and the SAT as essential for college readiness.

11.C.1. Consider Approval of the Budget Amendment: Displays any necessary budget amendments that should be made due to spending patterns. By law, the District may not exceed the budget amount within “Function” code without prior approval of the Board. The proposed budget amendment is the final budget amendment of the 2016-2017 fiscal year. This amendment increases both revenue and expenses equally so that the budget reflects the most accurate information for the fiscal year. The amendment is a balanced amendment with no funds taken from fund balance.

11.D.1. Consider Approval of Capital Improvements Projects Update (2017-18): The report reflects work scheduled to be completed and funds expended through the 2017-18 school year. This includes programming, renovations, and construction projects.

12.A.1. Delinquent Tax Collection Report: The report includes information on the delinquent property tax collections. This report has been prepared by CISD’s tax attorney’s Perdue Brandon Fielder Collins & Mott.

12.A.2. Financial Services Evaluation Program Follow Up: The report includes Financial Services information on bank reconciliations, internal audit schedules and federal grant budgets.
|
|
12.A.3. Child Nutrition Report: Includes information for ongoing programs implemented at various campuses including Breakfast in the Classroom, Heartland Solutions the online application system and monthly action stations at CHS featuring rotating build your own lunch options. Employee training and community outreach continues to be a goal for the child nutrition department.

12.A.4. The River Oaks Lions Club donated $500 to sponsor the Castleberry Cares Health and Community Resource Fair. The entire donation amount will be applied towards the expenses related to the health fair.

13.C. The Summer Leadership Institute will be held in Fort Worth, Texas at the Omni Hotel on June 22-24. If you are interested in attending please fill out selection of classes and turn into Mrs. Branch by Monday. Registration fees are listed below with more details on the brochure.

13.D. On June 18, 2015, the Board of Education approved policy DC (LOCAL) delegating the Superintendent final hiring authority for Chapter 21 employees from the months of June 16 to August 31 annually. This policy will be practiced by administration through the summer hiring months.
