“I call this meeting of the Castleberry Board of Education to order. Let the record show that a quorum of board members is present, that this meeting has been duly called, and that notice of this meeting has been posted in accordance with the Texas Open Meetings Act, Texas Government Code Chapter 551.”

3.A. Consider All Matters related to Financial, including but not limited to reports, finances, and/or proposals.

3.B. DISCUSSION ITEM
2015 School FIRST Rating and Management Report: Castleberry Independent School District has received the School FIRST (Financial Accountability Rating System) rating of “Passed”. This rating applies only to the financial accountability rating for rating year 2014-2015 based on fiscal year 2014 financial data. In accordance with the procedures established, a school district will receive a P or Passed rating if it scores within the applicable range established by the commissioner for a P rating. Castleberry received the highest 30 out of 30 score. This score demonstrates the quality of Castleberry ISD’s financial management. The FIRST rating shows that our district is making the most of our taxpayers’ dollars. In addition it shows that not only is the District accountable for student learning, but also for achieving these results cost-effectively and efficiently. Additionally, please note that a district’s final School FIRST rating may impact its special education determination status as issued by the TEA Division of Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) Coordination under the requirements of 34 Code of Federal Regulations (CFR) §300.608(a).
