The purpose of the Open Forum is singular time when a citizen is provided an opportunity for citizens to address the Chisago Lakes School Board on an item included in the school board meeting agenda. During Open Forum, the school boards’ role is just to listen, gather information, and allow administration to follow-up on the items.

Citizens who would like to address the board on a topic on the meeting agenda may email Michelle Kleist, Communication Coordinator, at communications@isd2144.org  by 3:00 pm the day before the meeting.  Please include your full name, the agenda item you wish to speak to and your question or comment on the agenda item in the email.  Only those persons who have sent a request to address the board prior to 3:00 pm the day before the meeting will be allowed to speak during Open Forum.

Any discussion involving personnel, data privacy, comments that slander, or any violations to state or federal law is prohibited. 

1. Payments of claims which cannot be deferred until the next School Board meeting without the loss to the district of a discount privilege, or because of contract terms, purchase order terms, or a vendor’s standard terms which are part of a contract, in accordance with Minnesota Statute 123B.02, Subd. 18.
2. Payments of claims within the standard payment period as defined in Minnesota Statute 471.425.
