Description:  In 2022, the Minnesota Department of Education released new math standards. Districts have five years to review the new standards and make needed changes within their instructional program to align with the new standards. The Teaching & Learning Department in Forest Lake is approaching readiness for implementing the new standards and sharing that update with the Board.

Description:   The district tries to make the district academic calendar available at least 12 months in advance. To accomplish this, the district organizes a committee that considers many factors to develop a recommended calendar for the School Board's consideration. This calendar establishes the start and end of the school year as well as holidays and other key dates. The calendar committee attempts to meet changing needs placed on the academic calendar while also drawing from patterns established in past school district calendars. This committee has met and put forward the draft of the 2027-2028 academic calendar for board approval.
