There is a possibility of quorum for the Belmond-Klemme Board of Directors on January 15th during the TOP 20 staff professional development day. 

This agenda is a possible quorum agenda for a Board meal at 6 P.M.

This meeting is a special meeting of the Belmond-Klemme Community School District Board of Directors as held in the Jr./Sr. High School building. 

This meeting is a work session with the School Improvement Advisory Committee.

This Meeting is a Teacher Quality Committee meeting in the Jacobson Elementary School Conference Room

 

This meeting is a special meeting and work session called by the Belmond-Klemme CSD Board of Directors at Jacobson Elementary. 

The scheduled meeting is a special celebrational meeting for the Board of Directors of the Belmond-Klemme Community School District. The Board will be holding a welcome back breakfast for all faculty and staff to celebrate the beginning of the school year.

A quorum of school board members may be present and participate in the celebration. The meeting on the date above is an informal school board meeting. A formal meeting will not be convened, so rules of order will not be followed nor will any action be taken during this meeting time.

The purpose of this agenda is simply to provide the public with full disclosure of all school board activities.

No discussion will take place at the above meeting other than those topics disclosed in this agenda. Iowa Code § 21.4 on Public Notice of official meetings open to the public states, "a governmental body shall give . . . the tentative agenda of the meeting, in a manner reasonably calculated to apprise the public of that information."

Under The Code of Iowa §20.17(3), Public Employment Relations (Collective Bargaining), "the employee organization shall present its initial bargaining position to the public employer at the first bargaining session. The public employer shall present its initial bargaining position to the employee organization at the second bargaining session . . . . Both sessions shall be open to the public".

The School Board will conduct a public hearing at the above-noted location and time on the school Wrestling Program and the Board's recent decision to dissolve the program. At the hearing, any resident or taxpayer may present objections to, or arguments in favor of, any part of the decision.

Individual speakers will be limited to three minutes apiece.

No action will be taken at this meeting. The school board will consider the comments from the hearing and will place the wrestling issue on the agenda for the board’s regular meeting on Thursday, August 18, 2022. The issue may be reconsidered at that time.

No public comment on the wrestling program will be accepted at the Thursday meeting.

Iowa Code Section 21.4(1)(b) provides an exception to holding meetings in a space accessible to the public when “for good cause” holding the meeting at a publicly accessible place is “impossible or impracticable.”
