9. Consider adoption of a RESOLUTION that Decatur ISD formally request that the City of Decatur, Texas donate the following described tracts of land to the District, pursuant to Section 272.001(l) of the Texas Local Government Code, subject to a clause in the deed that if the premises ever ceases to be used for public school purposes, the title to the tract in question will revert to the City of Decatur:
TRACT ONE: All that certain tract or parcel of land to wit: A part of the James Tarleton Survey in Wise County about four hundred (400) yards Southeast from the public square of the Town of Decatur; Beginning forty six (46) feet East of the Southeast corner of a one acre block sold to Keach Halsell and two hundred seventy six (276) feet East of the Southwest corner of a 30 acre tract conveyed to W. M. Shoemaker by W. M. Burford out of said Tarleton Survey; Thence East two hundred ten (210) feet to a corner thence South four hundred twenty (420) feet a corner; Thence West two hundred ten (210) feet a corner; Thence South four hundred twenty (420) feet to the place of beginning and containing two acres, more or less, and being the same land described in deed from Mr. J. W. Cartwright and Allie Cartwright, spouse, to the City of Decatur, Wise County, Texas, by deed dated May 16, 1883 and recorded in Volume 5, Page 222 of the Deed Records of Wise County, Texas. TRACT TWO: A parcel of land described as follows: Beginning at the Southeast corner of a lot heretofore sold by M. W. Shoemaker to R. K. Halsell being part of Block 3, Lot 3, Shoemaker’s Addition to the City of Decatur out of the James Tarleton Survey, Wise County, Texas; Thence North to the Southeast corner of Lot 3, Block 2 of said Shoemaker’s Addition; Thence East 46 feet; Thence South to the Southwest corner of Lot heretofore sold by Shoemaker to J. W. Cartwright in said Shoemaker’s Addition to the City of Decatur; Thence West to the point of beginning, and being the same land described in deed from M. W. Shoemaker, et ex Mary F. Shoemaker to the City of Decatur dated August 22, 1990 and recorded in Volume 18, Page 154, Deed Records, Wise County, Texas. TRACT THREE: All of that tract or parcel of land lying and being in the corporate limits of the said City of Decatur described and bounded as follows to wit: Being a part of a 30 acre tract of land sold to W. W. Shoemaker by W. M. Burford and a part of the James Tarleton Survey; Beginning twenty (20) feet East of Southwest of said 30 acre tract; Thence East two hundred ten (210) feet; Thence North three hundred fifty six (356) feet; Thence West two hundred ten (210) feet; Thence South three hundred fifty six (356) feet to the place of beginning, said boundary containing all of Block No. 3 including Lot numbers 1 and 2 of W. W. Shoemaker’s Addition to said City of Decatur, and being the same land conveyed by R. K. Halsell to the City of Decatur, Texas by deed dated June 15, 1883 and recorded in Volume 5, Page 223 of the Deed Record of Wise County, Texas. Take action as appropriate. |
